Trained in both architecture and construction management, Gustavo Lima, AIA, MRAIC, LEED AP, DBIA, CCCA, brings over 35 years of unparalleled experience in project delivery to all building design and construction assignments. Gus’ area of interest resides at the intersection of these two disciplines, believing they are both essential components of a powerful client-centered professional practice.
During his 30+ year tenure as Principal and Director of Construction Services at CannonDesign, one of the largest and most prestigious Architecture, Engineering and Construction firms in the world, Gus Lima supervised and directly led dozens of large and complex projects in healthcare, education and in the public/civic arena, ranging from small houses of worship to one of the largest healthcare construction projects in North America , the Centre Hospitalier de l’Université de Montréal. Along the way, Mr. Lima developed an unmatched level of expertise in the areas of building design, construction management, business operations and legal/financial risk management.
Mr. Lima is licensed in New York, Québec and Buenos Aires, (in English, French and Spanish), is a LEED accredited professional, and a Certified Construction Contract Administrator (CSI) and Design-Builder (DBIA).
Mr. Lima is past founding member and faculty of the CannonDesign Academy, and a long-term guest lecturer at the School of Architecture and Planning at the State University of New York at Buffalo. His pioneering publications on the topics of construction document control, construction administration and design-build have been recognized by the industry with multiple awards.
